The last couple of years, one of the old does that lives down below my pasture has had triplet fawns. Yesterday I saw her out in the far end of the pasture feeding, along with a couple of last years fawns. She looked really big and ready to start a new family. Got a few pics of her. This morning I looked out and found her three little buck fawns bedded down on the tree line. No sign of mom. Now I'm getting anxious to see what she has produced this year. I don't think it will be long now. After watching these three grow up, it was always interesting to see that that two of the little bucks always hung out together. The third little buck was a momma's boy. He always hung out with her and was always by her side. This morning was no exception. The two bucks were hanging out together and the third was by himself. All of them were occasionally looking back down into the creek. Wonder what the odds are of her having triplets again?:-):-)

Nice photos Terry, all of them, but the doe and the lone bedded buck stand out to me. Liking the story and hope you keep up with this group. I've no idea what the chances are of her having triplets again, I want to hear about it if she does.
Many years ago I was hunting on a NWR for waterfowl and saw a doe with an orange collar with large numbers on it. I wrote the numbers down and called my local Conservation agent with the info. A week later he replied that she had been collared as a soon to be yearling, was eleven years old and had raised 22 fawns at least until early fall. She lived in the middle of a deer protected refuge. All fawns had survived their first five months. Some simple math proves they can be very prolific given the chance and she evidently had twins every year.

Thanks Steve. That's pretty nice and very interesting that you were able to get that info on that doe. The deer in our neighborhood are experiencing very good times the last few years. Their numbers have greatly increased.:-)

Thanks all for the comments and likes. Here's a little update. I saw the old doe a couple of days. She looks more than ready to have her fawn or fawns as the case may be.:-)

She is huge! As of today 6/3 none of our regular does have dropped. They are ganging up on a yearling buck from last year. They are relentless on showing him he is no longer welcome. I guess it won't be long before he disperse to a new area. Keep us posted!

One of this does yearling bucks is quite the momma's boy. He will probably take a lot persuasion to leave.
