Has anyone here ever replaced the drive in an older mac with a SSD? I've seen two ways of doing it and I am thinking about trying it with removing the ODD and installing a 500gb SSD and then using the original HD as storage. Then i would just use an external ODD for loading disk's and what not.
Anyone done this and had any luck?
The reason I would replace the ODD in this mac is because lately it been making a lot of noise on spin up and it will eventually fail anyhow ...
