Considering its all just rumors, what happens if It doesn't come out for another few years? lol

1. It's coming
2. I'm just a dad taking photos
3. I have a lot of other glass that will get used for the time being... I got it covered lol

I am still happy with my Nikon 85 1.8G since my 85 is not my focal length but I am exciting with the sigma art line since I already have 2 sigma art lenses.

I love when rumors start circulating more and more. While I'm sure an Art 85mm will come eventually, I vaguely remember an interview with one of their guys saying that the 85mm would take a while to improve upon because it was already so good. I kinda got the impression that it'd be one of the last lenses to get the "Art" update. Plus with all the people already saying the old one was really the first unofficial Art lens, I doubt Sigma is in a hurry to update it. 24-70mm and 70-200mm are probably much more important to update for them.

On the bright side, I found a guy this past weekend selling his pristine Sigma 85mm for $400...been looking for an 85 for a couple weeks now and haven't seen any for less than 600; when I asked why he was selling he seemed 100% certain that the Art was coming out this month. Either he's going to be very happy, or pretty disappointed... *shrug*

The 24-70 and 70-200 could definitely do with an upgrade, much more than their 85 which is already great.

If the rumors are true and the Sigma 85mm Art will be announced in a few hours at a price of $1400US, it will be very interesting to see if there's any improvement in IQ.

Considering the higher price, I'm wondering if they discontinued the 85mm EX so early to stop people picking them up if they aren't impressed by the 85mm Art considering the higher price.

And the weight of the 85 on the tech specs sheet is "TBD".

love my current Sig85 - would love to see a side by side specs sheet comparing the 2 (including weight)

Three more elements and nearly 1 cm wider on the filter size, so I'm going out on a limb to say the Art is heavier. ;-)a

Nice to see it's there!

I have to say that the lens looks quite ugly. I like the look from all other primes, but this lens looks out of shape.
And it has an awfully big filter tread of 86mm. I am really curious for the IQ.
