Lightroom Issue

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue. I was working in a Lightroom 5 catalog within ShootProof Publish Services on me macbook (while watching the Nats losing to the Reds). I removed a bunch of photos from the Lightroom catalog (using Lightroom commands), and selected Publish to update my ShootProof website. This list popped up, then Lightroom wouldn't respond. I had to force quit. I'm not able to scroll to the bottom of the list to determine if there's a "close" option. Tried it twice, then exjected the external drive and tried again. Still locks up, meaning absolutely nothing in Lightroom is working, couldn't even minimize it.

The photos are on an external drive. About 1/3 of the photos were removed from the catalog prior to me attaching the external drive. That might have something to do with it. Just guessing. Thanks.

Update: Resolved by deleting catalog and starting over.
