It's taken since January to get around to processing the images from my last day out of 2016 with the Hooded Mergansers. Not as productive as previous years but I'm always happy when I have at least one morning with them.

Beautiful shots - especially the female. Most photographers skip the drab female (myself included) and work on the striking males. Great shot and pose on the female.

Thanks very much. I find the Hoodie hens interesting and they play an important role in getting photos of the drakes. They tend to be less nervous than the drakes so they'll often swim closer to me. The drakes will follow them wherever they go so that raises my odds for getting better quality images.
