Hello.

I have a 6D which I use with an 85mm 1.2 v2.
Is it possible to disable full time manual focus with the above?

My apologies if this has been answered before but the search revealed nothing on the topic.

Are you asking if you can disable the full time manual override for the lens? To my knowledge this isn't possible with any of Canon's USM lenses. Could you elaborate a little on your situation so that we may be able to help you out?

With my 7D2 I can disable full time manual focus in one of the menus.
This prevents me from accidentally moving the focus ring if I'm not holding the lens very well.
Full time manual focus is an override for autofocus (I think)

Are you using an STM lens with you're 7Dii or the same 85 1.2 that you are using with the 6D? The only way I can think of that you would have an in camera menu that would affect the way your lenses manual focusing behaves is if you were using a focus by wire system.

I use all my lenses on both bodies.
On the 7D2 I disable the focus by wire or full time manual focus so that I don't spin the ring on my 85 1.2. It only takes a light touch to move the focus.

I could be wrong about all of this of course!

To my knowledge the full time override on the 85 is mechanical and done via a clutch system(I may be wrong) So I don't believe that you can disable it. I believe this is the case for all Canon USM lenses. Your STM lenses use an electrical input from the focus ring to tell the focusing motor which way to move, so it can be disabled, although I don't think the 6D has a menu dedicated to focus by wire lenses.

The 85 f1.2 does have focus by wire. The 7D2 with it's much more sophisticated focusing system has the ability to turn this capability off, the 6D with it's much-simpler AF system does not have this ability.

The 85mm 1.2 v2 uses a focus by wire system as opposed to clutched or at least it whizzes round easily on the 7D2.

Huh, shows what I know. I hadn't heard that this lens was using a focus by wire design. That's a little dissapointing.
