Nevermind--it WAS a part of the card. Phew. As to the cards jumping out, maybe they always did this and my paranoia was on hyperdrive!
Phew, it was just some stupid SD card. a cheap one at that!
I had a small piece of plastic come out with an SD card tonight
At first I hoped it was a part of the SD card. Then I compared SD cards to each other and I'm pretty sure its a part of the camera. Now when I push the card down to eject it literally springs out of the camera. I theorize that this piece was designed to slow the card from doing just that. The cards go in ok I guess, but it feels a bit more rough going in now. Should I be concerned or send it in for repair? When I'm just shooting for me I use the CF card only as I can shoot much faster and clear the buffer, but I rely on the dual cards for wedding work. I was able to read the cards just fine and format them--I'm getting ready for a gig. But didn't try writing to them (shooting photos). Anyone else had this happen?
