Went out a few days ago to see if I could find some cow elk and calves to photograph. I did find some cows, but none of them had dropped yet. On the hike back to the truck, I spotted this bear coming across the meadow, a long way off. Stopped to watch it. Apparently it was heading our way. When it got fairly close, I could see that it was a young grizzly. The area I live in does have a notable population of grizzlies, but for the most part they hang out in the heavy timber and are seldom seen much less photographed. Even though this was a young one, it still does get ones attention. It definitely made for an interesting morning and hike.:-)

Wow, that's a pretty cool find, Terry. I'd be a little nervous walking home after that.

Cool spot; and nice capture of the "little" one. Even at that age they're scarily large...:)

You are so right. A sow and Cubs would have made it much more interesting.:-)

Thanks Mel. Do appreciate the offer of more bears though, but I do believe we do have enough of them around here.:-)
