Hi all,

Sorry if this is in the wrong sub-forum, wasn't really sure where to put it but it does involve shooting people.

So I've got a portrait session coming up soon, I have a canon 6d, a canon 430 ex ii flash & a pair of yongnuo transreceivers.

Intention is to shoot in manual mode for both flash & camera. I've been playing around today to test a few things out & have seen that I can control the flash output from the back of my camera by going to menu > external speedlite control > flash function settings > scroll across to flash output level > then select the output.

Seems a bit of a faff, it's better than going to the off-camera flash & changing it, but is there any way of getting this "flash output level" in the main Q menu or on a specific button like I do already for back button focusing? When I go into the Q menu now, there's a thing there for flash exposure comp, but I don't use/need it. Is there a way of swapping it??

nope.

try putting External Speedlight Control in your My Menu items then select it. Everytime you go to my menu it will still be selected so it is just a quick Menu button press then Set button press to get to the settings.

Cheers for the reply, should of said I'd added that to the menu earlier actually. It's a pity the customised menu doesn't contain all the sub menus too

For future shoots, get a the newer/better (1) yongnuo 622c tx and (1) 622c. The TX has an lcd screen that you can control all of the power to the other receivers with one quick click. $80 usd for the the pair.

This is the set up I use. Makes adjusting flash power quick and easy.

Hello and welcome to the Photo Sharing & Visual Enjoyment forum. I see neither of those.

Perhaps you meant to post HERE.

I'm sure everyone is on the edge of their seat waiting for your approval. I wouldn't bet on it.
