I am a nature photographer who usually shoot a lot of wildlife and landscapes. I'm not the person who might shoot so much everyday photography or city shooting, but now want to start doing it more and more.

One thing I want to do is bring me lot of heavy equipment and not having to change lenses all the time. When I photograph wildlife and scenery, I do it under controlled conditions and then takes me with my heavy equipment.

Today I shoot with a 6D and want good picture quality with a chance of editing in Lightroom. I must not have Quick AF when my 6D does not. I want to make a nice enlarge the 20x30 size without worry about quality. I almost never use fixed optics so I'm used to zoom. But is not afraid to test the optics with better picture quality.

My next camera purchase will be a pocket-friendly camera with a chance to fine landscapes and everyday images.

What would you have chosen? See picture below. Both cameras has the same price.

The Fuji X-trans sensor kicks butt, period!

Love my G7x. The zoom is decent enough for most uses and the picture quality is excellent in good light and pretty decent up to ISO 800 or so. I've never used a Fuji, so I can't offer comparisons.

Check the G7x group on Flickr for some examples.

Just in case everyone is not aware, a "1-inch sensor" is not one inch. It is 13.2mm wide, which is about half an inch. Calling it a 1 inch sensor is deceptive.

Hence the performance hit at anything over ISO 800. Modern APS-C sensors handle higher ISO much better.

If the OP is going to shoot in low light, I'd suggest one of the APS-C sensor options. If this will be a daytime walk-around rig, the G7x is still a good option.

This shot is ISO 1000 and the loss of detail is obvious.

That's why I can't decide :) The problem is that I don't know if I'm gonna feel limited with the prime vs the zoom. But through years I've been pickier and pickier with the image quality.

I love that it is a zoom lens on G7X but I don't love to only shoot at max ISO 1600 which I think is max for my taste with some editing of course.

I think more and more about street photography and I think that the Fuji is much better in this area but for a allround camera...that's another story?

Have to agree with this. If you're ok with a fixed focal length then the x70 is a nice litter camera....though I'd got for an x100t myself ;)

It will not be my primary camera for that kind of photography I love. Maybe it will get me more into street photography and B&W shooting which I like more and more. It's so hard to decide but one thing is clear after I spend much time on editing RAW files from the net from both of these cameras. Fujifilm rocks in IQ. The colors, the dynamic range and the possibility to shooting at f/5.6 - f/11 without the sharpness becomes unusable. More possibility to work with the image file and to get a very nice and printable photo, that's my feeling about the Fuji when it comes to IQ.

Fuji's are great little cameras (I'm a semi Fuji convert)

Hope you enjoy it but let us know your thoughts on it after using it for a bit.
