Has anyone used Pixsy.com? Its a company that will find all your photos used online then if needed will collect from people that have not paid to use them. Would like to here what people think that have used it. www.pixsy.com (external link)

I've an account with them. I'm ambivalent about the whole thing.

Their engine yields lots of false positives and the images review image is not that intuitive to use.

They did find a case of infringement and I asked them to proceed so that the images would be taken down, but after many months, the issue is still unresolved. Of course, I'm using the free version, and I'm guessing things would be faster and more efficient with the paid version (subscription if I'm not mistaken), as that one includes immediate DMCA takedown notices, but I'm unwilling to pay a subscription if the trial version sux.

I'm not that far into it yet. What is the price to be a member. A FB group I'm with some one is looking at a free trial period for the group.

Oh my... I logged onto my account to see if there were info about pricing and found more false positives: now, I can understand lots of pictures of the moon to be suggested as being mine own, what with the moon being the same and all, but this:

Are you trouting serious???

There's also something else on their FAQ that is discouraging:

"Pixsy has identified that the likelihood of obtaining compensation from certain types of websites is extremely low. This includes known spam websites, hacked websites, non-commercial websites, and commercial websites that fit certain software-determined criteria. This does not mean that an infringement has not occured or that you will be unable to obtain compensatin. You are welcome to pursue the matter on your own or use our takedown feature to request removal of the photo."

So what's the benefit of having the service then if it's gonna be a crapshoot?

BTW, couldn't find any info about the paid version, they seem to have updated their site and their 'public' FAQ is very terse in terms of information. I'd steer clear of this one.

Found a post in my FB group. They said it works best if they are watermarked and they know what the watermarks look like before they start.

People who have stolen your image would never remove the watermark, would they? ; )
