Okay, my wife got this really nice bag from her company that she was kind enough to give me. This bag has prompted me to soon post for sale my current camera back pack and Lowepro 75AW that I never used. It's a Crumpler style bag that I've been using more frequently than the two bags I purchased just for my camera gear. It's much less conspicuous than your garden variety gear bag, and fits all my essential equipment nicely. I want to maybe put some custom dividers in it to not only better protect, but to gain more immediate access to my lenses. Problem is, I don't know where to look to get the type of dividers that normally come with bags that are specifically designed to house camera gear. Here are some pics of the bag and how I currently have it configured...

Here we see the bag from the side view. Notice the Crumpler style design. Can't complain about it being neutral black and not flamboyant like hot pink with yellow polka dots for example. Also a neat little carrying compartment on the side for pens, laser pointer, mini dart blower, etc...

Here's a front view of the bag with the main cover flap buckled down. Nice little front compartment on the flap itself, which is ideal for filters, lens caps, lens cloth, ninja throwing stars or anything else of thin nature...

BTW, "Configuresoft" of course is the name of the company my wife works for. ;)

Here's a view of the bag from the back. Shoulder straps can be stowed (see next pic). Nice carrying handle right on top and of course the primary carrying sling, which is padded and adjustable. In essence, it can be hand carried, worn as a back pack or slung over the shoulder.

Here the shoulder straps are zipped up and stowed away conveniently...

The main cover flap lifted, revealing 3 storage compartments...

The Main storage compartment is where I stow my lenses (3 are shown here in the original Canon cases), and the camera itself sits right on top. Still plenty of room for one or two addtional lenses or an extra body. I should also point out that there is another pouch inside the main compartment that would be great for your favorite photo publication, grey card (if you still use them) or rap lyrics you wrote when you were bored...

The next compartment is smaller, but it's perfect for your accessories. I've got a rocket blower, remote shutter, AA battery adapter for BG-E2 grip, lens cloth, lens cap and lens cleaning kit in here. Though they're not shown, I carry my lens hoods in here as well. Still plenty of room to add a flash, spare batteries, USB cable or Star Wars action figure...

The remaing smaller front compartments can hold extra CF cards, business cards, cell phone, thumb drive, handy wipes, or whatever.

Though I like how it's currently configured, I'd like to add custom foam dividers to add extra padding and eliminate the need to put my lenses in the leather/suede lens pouches inside the main compartment. In other words, I want to be able to quickly changes lenses on the fly without struggling with the Canon lens pouches. Do any of you know where/how I can get dividers to turn this bag into a true Crumpler style carry bag?

That IS a pretty sweet little backpack. Nice find.

Maybe take a foam block from a shipping container and cut out holes for the lenses to drop into? Most of the time these days, everything is shipped in Styrofoam (which I wouldn't use) unfortunately.

I have taken an inexpensive day pack and turned it into a camera bag. I could have gone to the store to buy some Domke dividers at not-insignificant cost, but I could also have simply purchased a closed-cell ground pad (for sleeping on the ground) and cut it to shape and fold it and glue certain parts to parts to make a custom divider.

What I really did was buy an inexpensive day pack and turned it into a camera bag by both making some custom dividers from ground pad foam, but also use Domke for the basis divider so the ground pad foam became subdividers of the Domkey compartments! I wandered all over Chile with a medium format system on my back, looking like a simple day hiker while carrying thousands of dollars of gear inconspicuously.

Thanks. That's just what I may be looking for. I'll look into it. ;)

Oh. Yeah. Well, I know it won't exactly be of the same quality and all, but it will at least look the part. ;)

Um, somewhat. :(

On second thought, I'm keeping my 75AW. It came in really handy today when walking around the mall with the family. Had my 85L mounted and 16-35L in the bag. Perfect little kit for just a casual walk-about that doesn't require an entire arsenal of lenses. ;)

Ah, right when I read your first post I wanted to hit you up for your 75AW, as I'm in the market for one. And since I see that you're located on Earth, I figured you were local to me too, that's a requirement of mine when buying used goods.;) Oh well. Congrats on the stealth bag, I really dig it! Although I didn't see any ninja stars or blow guns in there...:D

Nice to hear that the Domke inserts worked for you, like they did for me!

funny, I did more or less the same thing. I already had the bag, and couldnt find anything that worked in a way I liked in a sling/messenger style bag that was comfortable and that fit a laptop. I figure $20 for the domke insert was worth the cost considering my seamstress skills...
