Looking for recommendations for this 2 alone, does not have to be a designated camera bag, I want something like a lens bag that can fit a camera attach to the lens.

Thank you in advance.

Looking at the capacity with the bag / holster extended, this should manage.

If you decide you'd like a compact bag as opposed to a "holster" but would still prefer to keep it compact, the ThinkTank Retrospective 20 is the tallest in the series, (and one of the narrowest as compared to the bigger 30/40/or 50) and handles a 1D4 (or 7D2) mounted to a 400mm f/5.6L (or SIGMA 150-600mm which is just a tad LONGER than the 400mm)

I was happy to find it still fit the longer SIGMA after I sold my 400mm.

It's not a "perfect" fit, with the Sigma, the body is not even with the top of the bag, it is poking up just a tad, but the big flap on the Retrospective series makes it unnoticeable in any event.

That's a 7D2 on the SIGMA 150-600mm in the photos, I don't recall the 1D4 peeping up with the 400mm.

I personally prefer the bag for a number of reasons.

- It's a bag that I can use for many situations. It serves it's "primary role" well , but is flexible enough to be useful for many other roles.

- Even if I am using it for it's primary purpose, ( packing a long zoom lens) there is ample room for more if I need to add it. I can toss in a 24-70mm, batteries, charger etc.

- It looks and feels less silly. This is a personal thing, but the holster style bags just scream "photo weirdo" to me, as well as letting everyone know exactly what's in it. Not a big deal for some situations, but I prefer the option of being less obvious.

With the SIGMA or 100-400mm this one sits behind the seat of my truck, ready to go if I spot a bird or whatever. It always has at least spare battery and a "pancake" lens. Often it has the 16-35mm or 24-70mm as well.
