Cameron on Film

Not sure if I'll get run out of town with pitchforks and torches for this but...


Cameron in the studio (aka the living room)
Yashica model C (80mm Yashicor lens)
f/8 or f/11
1/100 of a second
Ilford Delta 100 *gulp* Film
Hand processed in D-76

Scanned with the 6D and a 100L Macro with the "digital print" being done in PS.

Lighting is a 22" impact beauty dish and a 500W strobe with a sync cable.

This was my first roll of 120 I've shot and developed...definitely a new experience, but very rewarding.
C&C always appreciated.

I love it! Simple but great lighting and good quality for such an old camera.

I find it super hard to frame correctly with my tlr. Ive never hand developed a roll of 120 before. What was your equipment?

DThriller, I also find framing to be a nightmare at times...I framed this to crop it later, and used a tripod in the studio.
For equipment I use a Patterson tank that does either 2x 35mm rolls or a single 120 roll at a time.
D-76 at 68°, water for the stop bath (on this roll, I've since started using IlfoStop), and good ol' Kodak fixer.
120 is trickier than 35mm because I'm not super experienced and threading it on to the real can be challenging.
A little practice will fix that!

I picked up some R5 monobath and I have to get better with it. The first 35mm I used it on wasnt fully submerged in the tank I think.

I've never actually used that! I should try it sometime!

I watched them both 2-3 times each over a few days when I was getting things together to start developing my own film.
Just agitate it like Ted does--Matt likes the "cocktail shaker" approach!
The Patterson tanks are nice because they're like $20, and they tell you on the bottom how much liquid you need to cover the roll.
Super handy!

I'm feeling so bad now, for thinking about selling my C-33. Might just wait on that a few more years.

Terrific shot. It really does have a different look to it doesn't it? Makes me wish I didn't sell my medium and large format gear.

Thank you! And yes film does has a great look! I'm actually selling a lens and some other stuff to pickup a Hassy if I can before I go to Israel in mid-July...
I'll shoot the heck out of the place on digital, yes, but I do want some high quality film shots from there as well.
