I find the 35 ART to be a peach of a lens; well-built and sharp, fairly quick to focus. Unfortunately, I'm somewhat of a stabilization junky, so it gets little use. -?

How would people compare the 35art to the 35l mk1? These seem to be around the same range in the secondhand market just wanted to get a few opinions

35 art is sharper when you do get focus, 35l mk 1 is more consistent at autofocusing in low light.

I probably have more out of focus shots with my 70-200LII than my 35/1.4 art.

35 became my favorite lens I think.

Wow!! I'm shocked with your copy of the 70-200. Seems my newer gen 16-35 f/4, 24-70 and 70-200 is ridiculously sharp and accurate in focus. During family sessions to events photography I never get weird AF issues ever.

The 35 art is probably one of the first Sigma's I'm considering. I just sold my 35L and I regret it. That lens was very accurate and on print and even internet viewing it was very good. I put a lot of emphasis on landing the shot and this is the reason I disliked the old Sigma's all these years.

I didn't like the AF. Yeah the IQ was awesome when it locked. But I never felt it really achieved critical focus consistently...

Maybe I felt prejudice cause I really like L? Idk. I gave it up. I also had really bad luck with AF reliability with the 150-600 sport.

Sigma has been making very interesting lenses recently... And I really want to trust them. But until their AF changes... I'm a L guy.

I love the iq as well. Just had a pivotal moment at a wedding where I was indoors and it was well lit. Focuses on the bride and groom and it confirms af when it was way off. Multiple times. I almost chucked it at the wall. Went 35mm f1.4ii canon just cause I can't shoot live view and manual at a wedding. But in all fairness the optics is great
