Almost many members or shooters who have this 70-200 f2.8LII are happy with it and said it is sharp, so are you doubting about its sharpness?
Buy it and you won't regret it

I own one and I love it, shots come out extremely sharp and I usually find myself toning down the sharpness in some situations.

Yes, and i am happy with mine, no issue, and as you said, the sharpness is really great that i really don't need to add in pp, and it is great in all bodies i use it with.

Those images are heavily processed, and have a final output sharpening applied which I think is a bit heavily handed. But if we try to look past the post to what those images started as, then the 70-200 would give you that starting point no question. Every time I take a picture with the 70-200 I am blown away. It's just that good. It might be hyperbole, but the 70-200 IS II is one of the finest lenses ever made. Stuff will out spec it on paper, or maybe something medium format will out resolve it, but at $2000, show me a better lens please because I will buy it.

Cameras: 5D Mark IV, EOS 3, Elan 7
Lenses:15mm 2.8 fisheye, 16-35mm 2.8L II, 24-70mm 2.8L II, 85mm 1.8, 100mm 2.8L, 70-200L II IS
Tripod: Gitzo GT2531, Arca-Swiss Z1, RRS PC-LR

Why they did heavy processing on their images? I don't understand why. Their cameras and lenses already good, produce images at its best.

Just to show how sharper it is rather than just sharp, so you think that it is very sharp or razor sharp SOOC without any pp.
