Lol, it's not Thursday yet, is it?? I wouldn't know, I've been tortured all day by the noise of roofers on the house. Ugh.

Still time for votes!

Sorry about the voting mix-up.

We've had a house full of family company for two weeks and are just now getting back to normal.

Thanks. Of course you had a hard time voting! I had an easy time, at least for part of the vote, because your dragonflies were available for my #1 choice. When I saw that photo, I knew I could enter one of mine with no danger of having to run the next challenge. There couldn't possibly be a better shot of this phase of their reproductive behavior.

It's all good, OC. Given a choice I'd probably choose suffering thru the ear splitting installation of a new roof to a 2 week visit from the relatives! LOL

OhLook, your words made my day. Thank you. Your great photos gave me the idea for the challenge. :-)

Lesley captured oviposition. The dragonflies had already mated. The male has organs at the tip of his abdomen, called claspers. He places them behind the female's head to hold her while she lays eggs underwater. It's something like dad keeping mom company in the delivery room.
