Morning everyone. It would seem that windows 10 won't let me upload pictures to Facebook or this website. I have sized the images down to 1000 X 1000 still no luck. I have also taken out the router and hooked up the desk top and the lap top directly to the modem and still no luck. The only way i can up load is by using the tablet. Not sure when this started but when i disabled the fire wall it still would not upload if you watch the performance on the task manger it looks like it started to down load then stop for about 10 seconds then start up again after about 15 seconds a error message comes up and asks me to restart. Any help would be great. Thanks.

What browser are you using, and exactly what happens when you try to upload?

What is the specific error message that you are getting?

Hello
It does not seem to matter weather i use chrome, ie or firefox it will start to load then fail. Right now i am trying to upload a picture i took on saturday. It uploads 12 % then just hangs up until it times out and fails. It happens on this site and facebook as well. The only way i can up load pictures is to use my tablet. This is happening on my laptop as well as my desk top. I even went as far as uninstalling my anti virus software and tried to up load.

That is very unusual.

First troubleshooting point I would reach for would be to create a new Admin Account on your system to log into and try it there. It could be something funky has gotten configured, and simply generating a new admin level account may allow you to upload photos again. If that is the case it gives you a good spot to start working off of to get things configured again.

Your windows 10 install, was that an upgrade from a previous version you were using, or was it a clean install onto a formatted hard drive?

The only time I've seen a system act anything like this was when the network card had gone. Everything would be fine on light usage, but trying to download large files would cause it to drop out and could result in the system rebooting.

The windows 10 was a upgrade that they force on you. I even tried to upload one image that was 174 kb and that also failed.

Does the speedtest website (external link) complete? That does an upload.

Just tried the test and it showed my download speed at 15.9 mbps and for the upload speed 0.04 then the test timed out. Now i have to convince cogeco that it is there system and not mind. I reset my laptop back to factory setting to see if that would help and it did not.

First, reboot your router or modem. Then try speed test:
- With another computer, on wifi
- With another computer, with a cable to the modem / router
- With a phone

Report back results as it will help narrow down the issue.

Tried that and it did not help so i called tech support and we decided to replace the modem and go from there so i took back the modem and got a better package and now it works just fine. Thanks for your help i don't know why i didn't think of trying the speed test in the first place.
