1Dx2 Bridal Portrait

I rarely post in this forum. But wanted to show you what the files are looking like with the new 1Dx2. A lot of people think its just a sports camera. By far the best camera I have ever used. Servo DOES NOT miss with this camera. so Its something to consider if your doing a lot of weddings.

This is a straight off camera file, with a LR preset for my import. Sent it to OnOne for a color enhance at 30% and it was ready to ship. Also used a cheetahstand CL-360 for OCF at capture.

This will be her bridal portrait for her album. We Hiked (1.5 Miles) into these falls for her Day After session.

Might have slowed the shutter a bit to give the water some more blur.

We had to hike down a MTN and you grab cables going up/down and use ropes to get to location... So not easy access. Give and take situation here with 2 people carrying gear. Tripod stayed home. Also agree. But using a 135L and handholding....1/160 minimum with this lens.

I've been looking and haven't found a good ISO chart. I'm curious how many stops of DR it has in the low end and how it compares to the 6D on or past 12,800...

Go start looking through the 1Dx11 thread. It had 5 stops. On par with the Sony sensor. Much Much better than a 6D

Cool thanks. I've largely resisted the sport of 'measurbating' but when I saw Jared Polin's review and RAW files from the D5 I about lost my mind when I saw how good the files looked at ISO 51,200

we lit her with a CL360. We could have easily lit her with a speedlight as we lost direct light when clouds moved in. I drag in the 360's just in case we have brighter ambient

Yes.

I would have still used the long throw reflector and mounted the speed light on a pro S bracket. Actually In Hindsight, that might have been a better choice because I would have ETTL option. But you never know what light is going to be like in these areas on the Mountain that we hike into.

Nice work. I would have liked to have seen a slower shutter speed used for the water, but I can understand not wanting to haul more gear than necessary.
