Found this on my garden fence, I haven't been able to identify it so any suggestions are welcome, I would guess some kind of moth.

It was busy scraping off tiny chips of paint to build it's cocoon.

I was disappointed that I missed the intermediate stages but I just didn't expect it to keep building overnight.
Now I can wait to see what comes out of it (it might be a long wait)

I recognise the moth, we do get a lot of those.
