Love the moderating consistency! I started a similar thread a few weeks ago wrt the 16-35 v3, promptly shifted to the rumours section!.

I was waiting for the 16-35 v3 but primarily wanted it because it was faster than the f/4 version. Realised after some hunting I might be happier with the 24/1.4 v2.

Your thread was speculating on release date, price, availability, and optics. Speculation is nearly synonymous with rumor, for which a separate forum already exists. The OP is asking an entirely different question.

Anyhow, the 24LII is great glass...but it isnt 16mm. 16mm creates some very unique perspectives.

Hmm, maybe, not much of stretch!

I did want that 16mm, but I used to have a 24mm TS lens which was fantastic, but the lack of AF meant I wouldn't be able to get the shots I wanted in low light, crowded marketplace environments.

Sadly at 16mm, the zoom is still 2.8.

I will be interested to see how the 24-105L f/4 II performs. The current version is my most used lens on my 5D3, so if the price and performance are good, I may eventually upgrade (although my current copy works quite well).

I am waiting for the rumored NASA 11-200mm Quantum Singularity lens that will let me take photos 100 years back in time and 100 years into the future ;)

I honestly prefer the 20mm range over any of the 16-24 offerings. I think I'll trade my UWA zooms in for the 20mm Art and if I need wider just use the fisheye that is simply amazing glass.

what can Canon possibly do to improve on the 200 f2 IS?
maybe get rid of one lb at most but other than that i doubt it can get any sharper than it is now

the f2 was announced years after the production of the f1.8 was ended...
besides the f1.8 didnt have IS and wasnt super sharp at the corners
