1D Mark IIn + battery

I have a 1D2n and the battery indicator on the camera is showing i need to charge my battery (blinking battery icon).
I charged the battery, insert back into camera and i still get the same blinking icon (charge battery)
So i charge the battery overnight, wake up, battery back into camera and same thing....its indicating i need to charge the battery.

frustrating.

so i hit the refresh button, it takes a few hours for the "refresh" to cycle through and by this time im going to bed. i wake up, put the battery back into the camera and its still telling me i need to charge the battery.

FYI and for what its worth, i notice that when i refresh the battery, once the refresh cycle is done the red light starts to blink. i was under the impression it had to remain solid during the charge and then blink when it finish charging.

i dont have the tools to either test the battery or the charger but id appreciate a bit of help if possible

Those batteries can be damaged and have their life span reduced. I'd get a generic Powerextra NP-E3 battery ($20 on Amazon) and see if you simply have some old diminished/damaged battery cells. When you refresh your old batteries, and then they automatically turn to charge, they should be solid and blink when done. So if it goes straight to blink after a refresh, then those cells have no capacity and your battery is basically toast. So you likely just need a new battery, thankfully they're cheap. I used generics for my 1D2 & 1Dc interchangeably and had no issues.

Awesome, thanks. I didn't realize I can get them so cheap. I was twitching as I contemplated spending $100 for one battery.
