Alaskan Images to Cool a Hot Evening

Approaching 100° here in Oklahoma City so it's a good time to visit Alaska. These are from a visit there a few years ago. The first is a little lagoon on Resurrection Bay in the Kenai Fjords National Park. The second is Polychrome Pass in Denali National Park.

Two more. Clouds over the Turnagain Arm of the Cook Inlet. Looks like it is from Revelation doesn't it? Second is another view of the lagoon. Can you see the face in the rocks?

Love the second in the first set. That needs to be seen BIG.

Great captures, Richard! I've been up along Turnagin Arm; have yet to get up to Kenai, but it's on my list.

Love the shots, Richard. We've been to Alaska twice, but did not get to Kenai either time. It looks like you had some cloud cover in Denali -- were you able to see the mountain?

Actually got some clearing just in time to see it. When I lived in Fairbanks we could see (very faintly) Denali on a clear day. That's a distance of about 70 miles.

Here's a shot of Denali and another of Polychrome Pass. The second one is really my best one of the pass but it's a bit soft so it doesn't print well

I love this one.

Alaska is a photographers dream. Amazing landscapes and nature shots. Great shot of Denali, that most people dont actually get to see this time of year. Of all the pictures, the second image in the second set really "pops" very well done.

Great Shots!!! I am planning a trip to AK in the next few years. Seeing photos like these really makes me want to speed up the planning and get there. Well done!!

Love the shot of Denali peaking through the clouds. We've been there twice -- the first time, the mountain was visible for about an hour in two days. On our last visit a couple of years ago, it was visible for the entire 3 days we were in the area!
