Footloose on monopod

My Gitzo GM5561T monopod seemed to have lost its rubber foot.
Possibly unscrewed while hunting (airshows)

I also have a Manfrotto monopod but not strong enough to support the heavy gear. The Gitzo keeps it up!

Anyone else experienced this fall off?
If so how did you repair/replace the rubber?

For the moment I've found a (sturdy and plastic) cover to (sort of) replace the rubber.
By the way, I tried to unscrew the rubber from the Manfrotto but didn't succeed! Didn't want to break it eather

Pretty much any tripod/mono pod foot with a 3/8 thread will fit. I am currently using Gitzo (short) spiked feet on one of my Gitzo tripods and Benro ones on another - even the rubber covers fit either/both.

If you find that a particular foot is a little smaller than you like or you want to protect the bottom of your mono pod better then get some "Plastic Penny Washers" (mine were from FleaBay). They help prevent the lower end of the carbon tubing from getting scuffed and are a tight fit on a 3/8 thread so they don't fall off if you frequently change feet.

Other than that just get the standard Gitzo replacement - expensive but good. I would suggest the shorter spiked version as it is handy on less stable ground and has a rubber cover (bung?) that makes it back into a conventional foot. Best of both worlds?
