Do the included attachments with the Cotton Carrier Vest allow you to attach a securing strap like the one shown to a tripod collar on the lense instead of the camera itself. This would be a good way to have a secure point midway with a longer/heavier lense. I looked at the video and it showed that you can attach to the camera but did not see it being attached to the tripod collar when carrying. Thanks for any info.

The weight of the camera/lens would be brought out away from the hub if you did that, increasing the moment of force. I'd still prefer to put it on the camera, but I tested it and you can put the hub on the tripod collar:

The Cotton Carrier doesn't attach to a strap the way a rapid strap does, as far as I know. The CC hub slides into the bracket on the vest or holsters. It's designed that way to be secure and allow for one handed operation.

Well, I a bit late to the party. But I'll comment...

I have the large & heavy Canon 300 f2.8 IS II that I carry with the CC vest.
With the hub screwed into the tripod collar (as shown in Frugivore's photo) it works
very well. The only problem I have with that is the camera sits higher on my chest.
Not a big deal, but I prefer using the camera tripod mounting hole.

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.
