I wanted to get some feedback on this logo/watermark. I am going through DesignCrowd, which I realized was a mistake but at this point it is what it is and I just have to make it work. This was in my opinion the best design that I got and I just wanted to get some thoughts from here. This was the only designer that came came close to what I envisioned.

Oh and please move if this belongs somewhere else.

I don't dislike it. In fact, I think it is very practical and clean. I doubt your clients/potential clients would have any reservations because of that logo. With that said, the clip-art style camera is very generic and cliché. It won't cross the minds of your clients, but other photographers will probably take notice. You can decide who is more important ;-)a

I'd remove the camera graphic from the logo, just the text.

I'd replace it with your favorite flower. That sounds sexist, but it isnt my intent. The idea is to find something a little less cliché for photography.

Take out either the camera image or the words "Photography By".

The only bit that seems useful is you name, so perhaps just your name. I don't like the font. I'd go something much plainer. Possibly add a very small icon - flower, heart or star might suit you?

I'm no expert.

Camera out for sure. It's soooooo overused. As well as aperture blades.
Leave just Angela. Maaaaybe, tiny "photos by" somewhere on top.

P.S. And don't you even think, when you do get a logo for usage, to slam it on the images you put in CC. Don't you dare!

Agreed about the camera being overused. I like the idea of a logo like that though and honstly the script letter style is pleasing. It wouldn't be if your name was Robert, but for Angela it works. Perhaps instead of the camera, replace with the NYC skyline as that you your geographical area?

Probably not what you want but I felt like a quick go:
If you like the halo it probably needs a bit of work :)

Not to argue with anyone but I think it only looks cliché to other photographers. To people who only look for a photographer a couple of times in their life and so do not often see the logo of photographers it is not, in fact it helps them know what you are offering quickly. Just my opinion.

drop "photography by" it will never show up on your business card and other small prints such as 5x7s

i would skew the camera so that it keeps the same slant as the text of your name, would probably vary the line weight a little to make it more stylistic. Might even skew the lens so that it is a little ovalish.

edit, glad to see you moving forward with your business goals!!! keep it up.

i fall somewhere in the middle of this debate but definitely think this is a valid argument.
