Finally had a clear night last night, and been itching to do some astro. Obviously a little tougher with a 2/3 full moon, but it might be my only shot for a while! The first shot with the star trails is made up of 159 shots at 6 seconds each. Normally I would shoot at 30 seconds, but I was trying to capture the lightning bugs (which you can sort of see) on the left side of the frame. By lowering the exposure time, and upping the ISO, I could relatively increase the brightness of them vs the sky.
The Milky Way shot is an 18-shot pano (2 rows of 9) and stitched in Lightroom. The moon is directly behind the tree on the right side, causing it to "glow" over there, even though I used many local adjustments to decrease the brightness. It took a lot of processing to get even that much detail out of the Milky Way due to the bright moon.
Both taken with the 6D and Samyang 14mm f2.8. I've mostly been shooting with the 24 1.4 lately, but I knew I was going to be stopping down a bit due to all the moonlight/lights on the dam.
