Here's one from 11 years ago. I don't shoot bugs much these days.

My first butterfly shot. I don't think it qualifies as macro, though.

Nicely done.

We tend to be relaxed about macro (life size magnification or more) and extend this to close-up like 0.3x or more.

A few from the Dordogne. Not strictly-speaking "macro", in that I used the 300mm f/2.8 with 2x converter rather than a macro lens, but this combination means that I do not have to get too close and possibly spook the butterfly. The lens will focus down to 2m as well, which is very useful for smaller subjects.

Very nice. Another photo site I sometimes post in calls their Macro forum, "Macro & Close Up." Solves the problem of what isn't or is macro nicely.

Not as sharp as one would like, but I felt myself lucky to get a shot of these Monarchs mating.

Monarchs are in trouble. They are on the Canadian Endangered Species list and they should be on the US list.

Fascinating creatures! The ones you see this time of year only live a few weeks as the beautiful adults we see flying. These are probably second generation for this year. Their offspring (third generation) will also live short lives but they will produce the fourth generation, aka, the super generation. These are the Monarchs that will make the incredible journey to Mexico - a distance of up to 3000 miles! More info:
