How would you have handled this situation?

It's a 12-minute video, so it would help if you offered an approximate time within. I saw the host recounting the occurrence, but from what I can see there's no frames showing the other guy trying to take the camera. Having not seen it, I'll just say that it's not a crime to take someone's image in public, but it is a crime to try to take their camera, and in most jurisdictions would also probably qualify as an assault as. the camera would be an extension of your person.

The location may or may not be public property. If I know it's private property or the aggressor claims that it is, I would probably delete the images to assuage him, but I'd remind him of his own offense. If, OTOH, I know it's public property, and he tried to take my camera, I'd tell him to suck it.

Edit for caveat: Because the area looked remote, if there were more of them than me, and if I suspected any criminal activity or business activities conducted in knowing violation of regulations (which could explain the aggressor's reaction), I'd likely modify my response above accordingly. ;-)a

I couldn't watch it when I clicked it and saw it was 13 minutes. Just being honest. I'd rather see a 1 minute clip, tops, showing the event, and then have brief commentary.

Very best,

Not very likely to find my self in that situation, but some people don't like cameras up in their face for whatever reason and as a photographer one need to respect that.

Street photography for me is to connect with your subject and telling a story, snapping random shots of unaware people is easy and doesn't require much knowledge or skill.

But from what i could tell from the video you where straight forward and polite, you told him you where sorry and deleted the images.

Yet one image of him find it self on your website along with a video of the guy who didn't want his picture taken..?

Having read the prior posts, I was ready for a long video that didn't actually show anyone trying to take your camera. I started to watch it, but became disinterested very early on. Fast forwarded to various places, but didn't find any discussion about someone trying to take your camera. I concluded that your thread is a commercial for your vblog.
