Is there a way to DM an image that is not perfectly square? I want to DM some pics but Instagram always forces it square.

Thanks!

Before IG revised their app, I used a third-party app called InstaSize to preserve portrait/landscape cropping. You perform the process before opening IG to prep the image and save it along with your other images on your phone. That should work for DM.

increase image canvas size (external link)
In PS, you can choose the extra canvas color. Then crop it to a square format.

Instead of starting as a DM, just use the share function in your phone. Then you can set the image size by pinch zooming, like you would normally share, and then choose the direct tab.
