Yeah I don't know if I'd be selling the VR2 for the Tamron unless the focus breathing at MFD was an issue for you.
Well I really don't care about the focus breathing issue that much, and from what I've been reading, the Tamron has a hefty advantage over the VR II when it comes to MFD. All you gotta do is move your feet a little bit and you can grab back whatever field of view stolen by the VR II's focus breathing. I mainly use my 70-200 for sports,... baseball. So quick and accurate focus lock is more important than any breathing.
Hearing that the new Tamron G2 rivals the new Nikon VR III suggests that it beats out the VR II in a lot of areas that matter to me. I could be wrong tho!
You know,... it's kinda funny. Half of the Nikon shooting world says 'this'; and the other half says 'that'. And you know what else, both halves know what they're talking about and bring equal good stuff to the table! It would easier if one half were idiots and the other half were photography gods,... the dilema is that both halves got something serious to say! Hahaha!
I'll let the Tamron perk a little bit more before making any moves. So far, I'm only reading the early reviews,... mainly Matt Granger and The Angry Photographer,... a few others too!
