I've been looking for a cheaper, used camera to shoot some video with. Let's just say I'm trying to find a camera that I might put "in harm's way" so I don't want to use my 60D. I'm sort of leaning toward some kind of point and shoot that also does at least 720p video. Don't really have any specific brand preference.
Did some test shooting with an older Fuji S2000 which looked promising. Used AA batteries, SD card, 15x zoom and a good price. But while the video output was decent looking, any movement in the viewfinder usually sent the camera into fits of automatic focus and exposure adjustment. Probably to be expected in a camera of this age and type.Thought of maybe going with a GoPro knock-off... I'm figuring they're all fixed focus at least. But didn't want to be stuck with like a 140 degree field of view.
Has anyone had any experience with a particular brand or model of P&S type camera that turned out better than average video? Maybe something with a bit of optical zoom and manual focusing or focus lock for video?
