430ex iii and YN E3 RT - why no work?? any alternatives?

if the YNE3RT can control a 600ex, and a 430exiii can fire a 600ex or be a slave to one, why cant the YNE3RT control the 430exiii? or maybe im just stupid and missing something?

can a canon version STE3RT control a 430exiii?

any alternatives you guys may know out there? Would like a small transmitter that can control 1x 430exiii off camera.
