Ordered one. I sold 67mm awhile back and have missed it since. Glad a deal like this came around.

Wow, what a steal! If you don't own a circular polarizer, you need to click as fast as you can on this link and buy one. I've never seen a price this low!

The deal expires 6 hours from now...

I'll challenge the notion you need to own one. See https://www.youtube.com …dqlBbNDE&feature=youtu.be (external link)

Yes, I own and have used a circular polarizer, e.g., for cutting glare while photographing crew, but most people can get by perfectly fine without one.

I love my 72mm and 77mm Kaesemann, worth every penny of that $60--and then some.

Sorry, 10 seconds to screw a filter on vs, minutes spent in front of a PC, assuming you can get the same results, not my idea of a good trade off.

I did not watch the whole view, Tony bores me really fast with all his talking, made it to maybe 5 minutes in I gave up as we still hadn't begun to get to the point... but not sure how software will tame reflections and glare like a filter will. Certainly can't see a way to get 10 stop ND using software.

He basically says "well, you certainly can't remove glare or reduce reflections without one, but otherwise there's no need for them" and that "the effect of a CPL is unnatural because it isn't the way the eye sees things" and then spends the rest of the video using examples that were sent to him, of scenes that no one in their right mind would be using a CPL for anyway to prove his point.

For any ND filter, there is at least one technique out there for taking multiple shorter subs and blending them into a fairly reasonable result comparable to a single, long exposure. Personally, I find that tedious and not worth the effort compared to using a filter. Malveaux, I think, is using it though for some reasonable results.

But this is THE need for a Polarizer. this is what they do? Now I'm baffled.

and that "the effect of a CPL is unnatural because it isn't the way the eye sees things"

Neither is HDR, Panorama, Telephoto, Wide angle, flash or any form of lighting other than ambient, long shutter speeds, (or the opposite, freezing motion, ie Photography in general vs. motion picture which is more like what we see)
He's making my point for me and I didn't even have to wade through the video :)

and then spends the rest of the video using examples that were sent to him, of scenes that no one in their right mind would be using a CPL for anyway to prove his point.

Thanks, really glad I did not have the patience.
