I own LR6 and PS CS6. I am considering starting a CC subscription. I would appreciate advice on two things.
1. Will I be able to use LR and PS CC when offline?
2. Will I still be able to go back and use LR6 if I later decide not to continue with the CC subscription?
Thanks.

1. Yes
2. Sort of. - You will certainly be able to use LR6 but, although LR6 and CC are currently considered "the same version", CC has some features that are not available in LR6. You will be able to process images and display the images processed in CC but you won't have access to the CC only features. Also, once LR reaches v7 it is probable that the catalog will be updated and no longer be compatible with LR6 - at this time I assume that the CC catalog will do the same.

So far, the main difference between LR6 and CC would seem to be a bunch of features for iPhone and iPad which I would never use (who on earth would want to use LR on an iPhone?) I really like the Apple TV thing and have been considering this for a while. Updating LR and PS individually would definitely cost more than an year of CC subscription.

Thanks a lot for your time answering my questions!

And if this happens, it will provide ON1 with yet one more marketing tool they will successfully use to promotes their RAW development product (release soon).

Adobe have been virtually without competition for so long with their LR product, they seem unable to understand they need to stop shooting themselves in the foot.

How so? All software does this... and On1 will be no different. When new versions, with new features are introduced the newer files can't be read properly by the older version, that doesn't have the code for those features.

The ON1 RAW site says the program won't import or catalogue your images. Is that a good thing? I don't think so. It means you will only be able to edit your originals and so have to carry your external hard drive to where ever you are. With LR, I can edit any image that has a smart copy in my tiny laptop. The originals stay in a 6TB disk mirror system at home. I think ON1 have shot themselves in the foot badly with this one.

Don't forget about dehaze. I find myself using it on almost every image.

There are now several dehaze presets for LR6 freely available in the web. I have one from Prolost (http://prolost.com/blog/dehaze (external link)) that works great.

The presets don't give you precise control and they don't let you use dehaze in the local adjustment brush.
