It's interesting to see them taking flight when their heads aren't fully feathered out yet.

Did you photograph them when they were in the nest?

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.

thanks Tom...unfortunately i didn't get them in the nest...i've not photographed many GHO nests, I had taken some photos of a couple other locations earlier in the year, and figured owls nested early in the year...this spot was next to a kestrels nest, i would see the adult every time i went out, but i wasn't positive if there were young or not...then i spotted this one about a month ago...that was the earliest i had actually seen a young here

the flying that they are doing is pretty much from tree to tree...not much farther than 100 ft or so probably...this one was watching the adult hunt in a field nearby and flew to get closer to the action
