Wilt Reader's Digest Condensed version of War and Peace [POTN Vol 1] More info Post edited over 7 years ago by Wilt. (4 edits in all) | Aug 05, 2016 13:38 | #2 I cannot believe they put this one in, stated absolutely absolutely WRONG! You decrease the diameter of the aperture, the opening, (thereby increasing the value of the number associated with that aperture) to increase the DOF zone...but one should not think about the magnitude of the f/number, as f/22 is not a 'large' aperture! You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! Keep POTN alive and well with member support https://photography-on-the.net/forum/donate.php

It is a very weird quirk of language that has evolved based on the shorthand notation used and lax language. "Increase the number displayed for your aperture value to narrow its size to allow a greater depth of field to allow more of your subject to appear in focus" Canon EOS 7D | EF 28 f/1.8 | EF 85 f/1.8 | EF 70-200 f/4L | EF-S 17-55 | Sigma 150-500
