I wasn't sure where to post this, but this is a statue of two people from the past. Chief Baconrind was the Chief of The Osage tribe and Col. Walters was a famous auctioneer of that time. During the "oil boom" that occured in the 1920's, Col. Walters held an auction and sold the right to drill for oil on Osage land and made over a million dollars for the tribe in one day. This statue was erected in a small boom town to honor this event and it still stands there today.
