To clean up or not clean up

What say you:
For:
1. looks better

Against:
1. Not sure if my fixing would bear scrutiny if printed large.
2. No longer a doc shot.

This was after I already cleaned the subject a bit. I was afraid that further efforts with my clumsy fingers would damage it/them.

Use the spot healing brush @ about 30 pixels. Still captured the image as it is because you're not changing what you see by removing or adding something major. Think of it as a litter pick on the garden. It's still the same garden.

It all depends on your intent.

If you are documenting the scene you clean nothing. If you are after beauty then have at it, saving multiple versions until you get something that fits your vision.

I vote clean, just a gut reaction to which I like better.

Scene 'touch-up' worked well for Matthew Brady. Do what works for you.

Clean is better for me. But you missed a couple of spots.

I also prefer the clean version.

It's always a consideration. Except that my house is too small for a large number of prints. I'm thinking of getting a large LCD screen and having a rotating collection. The last time I looked -- a few years ago -- I wasn't happy with the garish colors and neon look. I want something that looks like a print, not a Broadway playbill.
