I had the privilege of shooting a family that was in the process of adopting two young children. They wanted some shots in places that are special to them to have for a surprise reveal. The adoption was finalized recently, so I thought I'd share my work here. I have to admit that I can be put off by family sessions. They are much harder, esp. with getting so many people coordinated, looking at the camera, and looking good! It's a minor miracle to do it perfectly every time, so I did some head-swaps and other adjustments for these, but I have to say that this was one of the most fun family sessions I've ever done! Even more astonishing considering that I am a perfect stranger to the children and it was super hot and humid that day!
Here are some of my favorites. Feel free to ask me anything! (NOTE: You can view the rest of the session at my Flickr account.)
.) I had some trouble figuring out how to make those letters look like carved wood in PSE. It still is just an OK effort, but the idea works pretty well!
.)
.)
.)
.)
.) I took individual portraits of each family member.
.)
.) The happy siblings.
