OKC Bombing Memorial

I'm preparing a stock submission to add to my images of Oklahoma City. Specifically I am adding some overlooked shots of the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial. When the bombing happened back in 1995, I didn't even want to go downtown to the site. Friends across the country asked me why I hadn't photographed any of it was difficult to see and I just didn't want to. When they announced the Memorial, I thought it would just be a dreary monument that would keep the wound open, but instead the memorial turned out to be a touching, dignified memorial that is a tribute to to those who died and a powerful addition to our city. I have photographed it a few times but have posted very few of them. Here are a few of the ones I sent out for stock today.

Here are two more. The statue is "Jesus Wept". It's behind the small Catholic church next to the memorial. The church was badly damaged in the attack but rebuilt and added this very moving addition to the memorial.
