Any 600 EX RT owners, does your box have the serial number of the unit on it?

I bought it from Amazon SARL direct ( so not one of their dogy dealers ).
But I can not match any numbers on the unit to any number on the box. :( :(

The question is , is this normal? It looked new and unopened, but Canons awful policy of not having a security seal always anoys me. As you are never sure if you have got someone elses reject.

I am pretty sure my other 3 had the units serial number on the box, but I dont have them here so cant check.

Could any kind recent 600 EX RT owner who has easy access to the box check for me.

Despite 3 emails back and forth to Canon UK they are unable to say!!
No wonder clones exit, I am amazed! They are more concered about seeing a photocopy of the invoice. A screen print of my Amazon ac clearly showing the item, price, delivery date, and transaction no. Is not enough!
Pretty moronic IMO, surely they could just grab one and check it out.

Register the flash online for warranty. If serial number is fake the system will not process further with warranty. Tried to register a camera and copied and pasted a wrong serial number from my list and registration failed until I figured out was wrong.

That would determine if it was fake, but not unused.
Also I heard counterfeiters are getting smart , not hard to go into a retail shop and look at a box and then have numbers around that range.

The 600EX-RT I have is several years old but the box that it came in does not have the serial number of the flash printed on the box itself. This is it looks like on my box.

Just as an aside, if the serial number were on the box, it would be on a label affixed to the box or the box would have a hole cut in it such that the serial number on the registration card inside would show through.

How would a serial number on the box or not on the box determine if it was used? You can usually tell if something has been repackaged but even then if it is new it has warranty. Amazon also has a liberal return policy if you want to return your flash in exchange for another one. Amazon has policies in place for returned items (especially electronics) and will either return them to the seller, or relist them as "used" or "open box".

I have 8 600EX-RT's and not one box has a serial number. All my flash units are registered with Canon with no issues. Now were they new when I bought them? They were listed as new and I paid $600 each for them so I hope they were new. That is where trust in the seller comes into play.

I know for a fact that when Amazon gets a returned Godox flash units that they will put their own "returned" label over the manufacturers label on the box (with s/n and manufacturer info) and return those items to the seller. Amazon does not test those products and then resale them. I know this because I am the one who has been testing them for a Chinese seller and have received several shipments from Amazon of retuned flash units. So far only two units have tested bad and all the rest were in perfect working order. No reasons were given for the returns. The problem now is what to do with the returned units because it is obvious that all are used by either wrinkles in the box, scratches on the flash, and missing literature and/or packaging from the boxes. Amazon has a very liberal return policy indeed!

Thanks for the info on the box.

Ref previously used. I did get once get a faulty lens with a diffrent serial no on the box to the item.
Hence my concern. Obviously some unscroupulous owner bought another one and returned the faulty one, and somehow! It was shipped out to me as new!

I cant see a registration card in the box - I Will double check when I get home. Think there is just a generic warranty leaflet.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that the flash comes with a registration card. I can't say for sure if it does or not because I did not check to see if mine came with it. I just meant to say that if there is a registration card inside, sometimes, they just show that from outside the box by punching a little window in the box.

Just checked one of my boxes as well. No serial number.
We are fortunate to have three local Mom and Pop Shops here all within a 35 minute drive. All three are Canon Authorized as well. No need to worry about Counterfeit and the cheapest price. Counterfeiters will thrive if you keep demanding lower and lower prices and you keep the sales coming.
