Isn't that almost 2 years old? I guess it would be new for Nikon but the sensor has been in market for some time.
No Idea of a newer exmor, but I also don't recall which came first, A7r or D800 ?

And you'd think i'd know this already but since I rarely use SD cards it was never an issue for me (until now when I start buying SD because they're so much cheaper!) - I tend to lose SD cards since they're so small LOL Light L16: http://lightRumors.co

I shoot an 800 at work and would have switched if I wasn't so heavily invested in Canon glass. I'm at a point where my 5DII needs a refresh so the MkIV looks pretty promising. Not in a hurry so might wait for the 6D refresh. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

CyberDyneSystems wrote in post #18129914 The reviews I am reading might be saying that the sensor is "nearly as good as D810", but they are not saying that about the camera which has a few steps ahead of the D810. These are not the same thing. If the sensor is better than my 5DII or 7D then I'll be perfectly happy. Who cares that there's possibly something a little bit better somewhere else or just over the horizon? If it bothers you then don't buy this, quite simple! The fact is that for most (or me at least) this represents a significant upgrade from what they have. There's probably never going to be the perfect camera. www.mikegreenphotography.co.uk

I'm also thinking that I might trade in the 7D and keep the 5DII to go with the 5DIV...for weddings (my main realm of photography) I use the 5DII about 90% and have never been entirely happy with the look of the 7D. Sure I'll lose a littel reach but then I could also get the 100-400 for sports and such like... Nothing wrong with a 5D2, but the AF alone is worth an upgrade to the 5D4. The files look much better in the new cam too. I've only had it a week, but I'm happy I upgraded from the 5D3.

Mike ugly when I'm sober More info | Yeah, my GF tried to take some photos in dim light last weekend with the 5D2 - it hunted for a while and she gave up! Better AF would be a good help! www.mikegreenphotography.co.uk

PJJ205 Senior Member 348 posts Likes: 446 Joined Aug 2015 More info | According to the keyboard Warriors who have never even seen a 5DIV in person, there are very minimal changes and its not even worth upgrading to. Additionally, the camera is "crippled" and a "minimalist" paperweight. By the way, I sold my 5DIII on and picked up my 5DIV earlier this week. I am very pleased with my new piece of trash.

I work multi-day music festivals carrying the holy trinity of f/2.8 zooms, a couple of primes, two bodies and sometimes a flash. And I'm in my mid-50s. My only wish is that the beer be cold when I get to put my pack down. Sure, less weight would be nice but I'm not about to compromise, and at least for now I'm proud of the equipment that makes up that weight.
