I've checked out the samples. Jpegs, they are nice, nothing really spectacular but afterall these are jpegs. We'll know more when the first RAW files start circulating. I'm debating whether I should invest in one of these or just keep on using what I have, or even get a now ever cheaper 5DIII. I am definitely excited about this camera, I like using my 5DIII for weddings (along with a 6D and occasionally my 80D). I am soon replacing the 6D with something though.
It's great that the 5DIII gets Dual Pixel AF. DPAF is one of the reasons I started to use my 80D, with fast lenses, during wedding receptions. The live view DPAF is faster and more accurate than the VF-based AF under "reception" conditions. And I can raise the camera as well and still see the scene. It'll be great to do that with a full framer (whenever I buy one of course

) Of course the 5DIV doesn't have the flippy screen but it should still work relatively well in those situations.
I really like my 5DIII for weddings and events. Really, I'd say only the 1 series beats it, although I never liked the 1 series ergonomics hence I shoot with the 5D. The 5DIII wasn't/isn't perfect of course and this 5DIV seems to remedy most of the minor issues I had with the 5DIII.
And even though I also own a Sony A7RII, I'd probably never use that for a wedding. Battery life, speed of operation, ergonomics, etc. there are a bunch of reasons I'm not willing to risk using it even though its IQ is better. I use my Sony for real estate shots (which I do even more than weddings) where it shines.
Just a note at the end, it's already very entertaining to read the various comments on the 5DIV. On one of the websites that posted the official Canon samples shots people already started trashtalking it

"3-year old specs", "Meh, nothing here" and similar comments. But my favorite one was the one that says "these could have been taken with a GoPro"

Yeah, there are a couple photos of bears catching fish and a mama bear playing with a cub (600mm f/4 IS II used). I'd like to see (or perhaps I don't) someone attempting to get those shots, with the same framing, with a GoPro. Knowing how tough GoPros are, I have no doubts that it would survive the encounter, the photographer on the other hand definitely wouldn't.
