At f2 with a fisheye, everything is in focus. ;) Just make sure you go wide with all shots!

You never shoot a landscape scene or anything that may require significant DOF?

pppfff... what is that. oh wait... I'll focus stack it thats what.

I actually did my first paid gig this summer and shot a bunch of F8-16 stuff... pays good... not my style.

OK... disclaimer: handheld!?!...

but at my sons game last game of the season his last at bat and for some reason he kept striking out... his LAST swing I decide to quickly flip to video... 1080P style... and while HANDHOLDING the 200 F2 IS I captured a hit with a triple and ran in a run. Not the game winning but his last hit of the season. DPAF worked... I need to really spend some time dialing in the focusing speed and such... I also need to NOT handhold but either way... there is absolutely NO way I would of got remotely in focus trying to track him running around the bases with the 5D3 so I'd say the DPAF performs good.

This makes me want to invest in a video head for my tripod though thats for sure. (look I get it... it's shakey and it's sooc... so what... I got a video of my boy... all that matters) I was also on center point AF for the video and wasn't really watching the screen that well and kept moving off of him... I was too excited lol.

You would if you knew how to use it properly, I've seen plenty amazing stuff from the 5D3 in video with regards to its tracking. Its all down to the operator.

I'm never looking back dood. 5d4 for the win.

I could track pretty good but not 200mm F2 like this video was shot at.

I agree that’s pretty impressive autofocus for video on a DSLR!

I think if I messed with the sensitivity and had it on a tripod with a video head it would of tracked dead on accurate the entire time.

I'm investing in a video head for next season.

I really wished the 5d4 had IBIS.

I need to learn how to shoot at high shutter speeds as i get un-sharped images when shooting low handheld shutter vs my a7r2.

i think the added bulk and weight also makes handholding more difficult.

I was doing a job yesterday and shot about 1 hour. Maybe a little more. Shooting and waiting, but it still resulted to about 400 images. No video. That took about 1 and a half batteries. I could shoot a full day with the MkII and one battery. As far as I know, I have GPS turned off. I wonder if this is going to continue to be an issue.

Might want to check and make sure. 266 shots a battery is pretty pathetic even with GPS enabled.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

I recently shot a 3 day music festival, camera always on from about 2PM to past midnight and took 2546 photos with the 5D4. I didn't go through two batteries. There's definitely a problem somewhere with those of you who are going through batteries so quickly. I wonder if some lens combinations are constantly focus hunting?

I find that reviewing images (i.e. screen on) does tend to hit the battery hard.

Camera, some lenses, too little time, too little talent

There was a good bit of that too. While I don't rate or delete in-cam (unless really bad) I do check histogram & exposure occasionally and my pit buddies and I often compare shots between shows.

So far I'm getting anywhere from 300 to 1700 about the same as the 5D3.

I had some initial concerns with battery life, but since I've gotten comfortable with the camera I've noticed I stopped chimping and playing with the settings and battery life has been much better.
