I dont really get the change to do BIF, but this was an easy target as it wasn't going anywhere.

The first was shot in haste and i wish i had taken more time to focus on the eyes.

I have to admit haste is my biggest enemy.

Yes, same here. i shoot too fast and dont always notice the finer points of the scene until too late. In this instance i took the shot as soon as the bird was looking at me. This was at a festival and people kept walking/standing in front of me so i had to take the shot quickly before it looked away and someone got in the way (which happened immediately after taking this shot.).

Just sent my 5D4 to Canon today, used it the last couple of weeks overseas and man this thing is getting harder to wake up than me!!! I had times when it went into sleep mode, I went to use it and nothing, I had time to halfpress the shutter twice, wait a second in between, pull the camera off of my face, make sure it was turned on, put it back up and half press shutter again once or twice before it finally woke up, 5+ seconds! And yes, I did miss a few good picture opportunities walking around downtown so I really hope they can fix the issue.

Mine turned off mid-shooting one day and never turned back on. Sent it in and they replaced the main circuit board. That seems to be the main issue with these cameras and any faults they have.

Always going to have a few faulty ones. Just be happy they are changing it under warranty.

I'm supposed to get it back today, of course FedEx is not here yet, they're usually here around 11am to 1pm, it's almost 4pm and I'm still waiting here (mostly) patiently :p

Very weird, here's the detail from Canon CPS:

"your product has been examined and it was found that the af assembly was out of position causing the auto focus to operate improperly. The flange back was repaired. Electrical adjustments were carried out on the af assembly. Product functions were confirmed. Image Sensor and view finder cleaning were carried out. Firmware was updated to the latest version 1.0.4"

I've never had a focus issue with the body, the only issue I had was it not waking up quickly from sleep mode, which has been progressively getting worse since new. It was also never dropped or bumped, which makes me wonder how the af assembly was "out of position" and that the flange back needed to be repaired! Weird .......

Hopefully your AF still works after they "fixed" it.

It seems to work just the same lol, I wonder if the sleeping issue is resolved, time will tell. Oh and they reset ALL my settings .... I wish there was a way to save the settings like the 1DX
