Be prepared to be next Nokia.

Actually, Nokia is doing quite well actually. Sells the mobile division for a ton of $$ just at the time things go south. MS totally messes things up and not Nokia looks to be getting back into the business at least as a design shop. Bottom line, Nokia made a boatload of cash.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Auto ISO in Manual - when you say finally, do you mean you didn't have it on your 5D3?

AeroSmith wrote in post #18105964 (external link)
I have auto ISO in M on my 5D3...

What I meant to say was "Finally! Exposure Compensation in M mode", which uses Auto ISO, but sucks because it will only give you an exposure of what the exposure meter considers balanced, vs. bumping/pulling the ISO when you want your exposure brighter/darker. Does that make sense? You ever experience this with your 5D3???????

I'm surprised the kit pricing for things like the 24-105 isn't at SOME discount.. it's actually 1$ more than buying them separately. ;-)a

I'm probably going to jump at this one, so look for my MkIII on the marketplace soon. ;-0

I did notice that the kits with the new 24-105 won't be shipping until Oct 31st......according to Canon USA.

You are leaving out the network side of things. They have bought Siemens, Alcatel and Bell Labs. They are one of the biggest players for sure.

Yes completely now!

I sold my 5D3 today for £300 less than I paid for it new two years ago. I was thinking of upgrading but I might just bank it for a couple of months and wait for some decent real-world reviews.

I saw in one of the hands on videos posted yesterday that it was addressed. It has the same viewfinder as the 7d2. I don't remember which video as I watched a ton of them.

So who else has review links besides the obvious DPR?

Pre-ordered one but I'm coming from a 5d2. Sooooooooooooooo a 5D3 would still be amazing to me. Dunno what to do.

Anyone got a 5d3 with a low shutter count and is in mint condition they want to unload?

You're in for a big-time treat if you go from the 5D Mark II to the 5D Mark IV! And if you decide to go with a used 5D Mark III, you will get an outstanding deal on a very, very good camera. A few ads have already sprinkled into the For Sale forum here for a really good price. The next 2 months will be an excellent time to purchase a used 5D Mark III!

Cheers,
Bryan

Unfortunately, the 5D4 does not address the major issues I face with my 5D3. Or maybe that is fortunately, as my wallet won't take a hit.

Really needed spot metering tied to the selected af-point.
A tilt/swivel screen.
Full continuous drive speed no matter what the battery level (the 6fps on my 5D3 drops to 3fps once the battery drops below 50%).

I don't have many issues with the 5D3. But those few I have weren't addressed :(

I do like the bump in MP, wifi/gps, & touchscreen.

I assume the issue with slow writing to the cards when using the SD slot is fixed.

Anyone know if the 5D4 has a built in radio flash trigger? Probably not, but could have been nice.

Another nice to have would be more DR. But, we won't know that until later.

Seeing as this was the main thing people were clamouring for, the relative silence about the DR is noticeable....
