Is VAT included? Even in the US it will cost more than $3499 depending on location and local sales taxes.

VAT at 20% is included in the UK price. UK retailers are not normally allowed to advertise prices that don't include VAT.

Send me $4000 U.S plus shipping. And I'll send you one. ;-)a

Seriously that sucks. Don't you get 'free' healthcare with that? Or is the VAT or whatever you call tax on top of that?

We get access to universal healthcare for that, which isn't free as we pay for it in taxes, but it is 'free' at the point of use, so if it's a mild sprain or a heart transplant, no additional cost, and it is one of the best in the world, at a third of the cost that Americans pay on average for the same level of cover. We think it's brilliant, it has it's faults of course, but we watch the protests over in the USA with utter bewilderment -?

Yes including the 20% VAT, so to be comparable to US pricing, at £1.34 to the dollar that would be $4018.88. Not as bad, but still about five hundred bucks more.

US prices don't include sales tax as it varies widely by location. 5 of 50 states have no sales tax. California has a 7.5% sales tax but many counties and cities have tacked on more. Some cities are over 10% when you combine state, county, and city taxes.

If you live outside NY, B&H does not charge tax. That does not mean it's tax free.

Have you seen our test scores? Anyway, everyone just lives on credit so its not like we have to head to the store with exact change.

Mate of mine went to a shop the other day and went to pay cash, £4.67 or something, and the assistant actually complained about having to count the money and asked him to pay be card. Very rude, but, he did for an easy life. She then asked at the end of the transaction if he wanted cashback, yes please he chirrups, £4.67 please! :p

Only if you evade them. Technically you are suppose to declare them.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

That's what cash registers were invented to do.

Do you still use pennies? You should see some cashiers' heads explode when you give them $5.02 on a $4.67 bill to get back a quarter and a dime instead of more pennies. We also have legal but rarely used $2 bills and $1 coins. There's stories of stores calling the police because they think someone is trying to spend fake money.
