I'll be spending a couple of days in Amsterdam, then a 7 day river cruise up to Zurich. We have 4 days in Switzerland with some excursions booked.
I'm leaning towards just traveling with just a 6D + 24-70/F4 (a couple of filters and a small flash).

Any compelling reason to carry my 70-300L or any other lenses? I have a 35/2, a 50/1.8, and an 85/1.8 - just not sure if there's a need to pack these along. Maybe 1 faster prime?

Kevin

Absolutely.
I travel to Europe with a 16-35 f/4 L IS, 24-70 f/4 L IS and a 70-200, either the f/4 L IS or f/2.8 L IS Mark II depending on the subject manor. For last months trip to Iceland I forced myself to carry the smaller lighter 70-200 f/4 L IS. Loved having a lighter bag.also loved the range it provides. So yes, take your 70-300 L IS.

Canon 5D Mark III (x2), BG-E11 Grips, Canon Lenses 16-35 f/4 L IS, 17-40 f/4 L, 24-70 f/4 L IS, 70-200 f/2.8 L IS II, 70-200 f/4 L IS, 70-200 f/4 L IS Version II, 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 L IS Version II, TS-E 24 f/3.5 L II, 100 f/2.8 L Macro IS, 10-22 f3.5-4.5, 17-55 f/2.8 L IS, 85 f/1.8, Canon 1.4 Extender III, 5 Canon 600 EX-RT, 2 Canon ST-E3 Transmitters, Canon PRO-300 Printer

Maybe a little travel tripod as well to help you to compose those spectacular landscapes.
I bought myself this one for travel it's super small and versatile.

There's always going to be times where a telephoto will come in useful but for where your going you will want the wide/standard zoom 90% of the time.

I don't think the 10-24 left my Xpro2 at all in Amsterdam but my memory is a little hazy of that part of the trip :)
