Just a quick update to my original post. After a year and a half with the xt-2 I've settled on Capture One for all my raw conversions.
Very happy with it.

...and I have gone back to Canon :)

and I never left Canon. Still use my 5D2 for some things I don't yet have lenses for on the Fuji.
Much prefer shooting the Fuji though.

Capture One is awesome. I recently made the switch to it myself, I don't miss Adobe at all so far :)

Lucas,
Do you use Capture One for DAM as well or do you still use Lightroom for that?
Thanks,
Paul

Thanks, Kim. I did review the site first and saw the DAM features. My question is do you (or Lucas) actually use/recommend it for DAM? Cheers.

The problem with answering this is that each person's DAM needs are pretty unique. Some of us use C1 for DAM, but you really need to assess how YOU manage your assets and what features you need (or could achieve with a reasonable substitution of methods).

There is a lot to be said for sitting down and outlining your process. Not only for assessing software options but also because it will improve your process. I realize this is like advocating eating vegetables--not everyone likes what is good for them :).

This is a good resource:

C&C always welcomed...
On my images, of course, and on my words as well--as long as it's constructive :).
